This Summer Hill client wanted the kitchen to have better function, adding storage, as well as aesthetically pleasing with a total remodel. The bulk head was removed to bring the cabinets to the ceiling. Moving the refrigerator to where the microwave had been opened that end for more counter space and cabinets. Fronting the new refrigerator and dishwasher with the cabinet material made the room feel warmer and less chopped up.
A new tile back splash and under cabinet lighting gives a more clean open feel. Granite counter tops are more user friendly than the old laminate that will melt and burn. The owner had seen this deep farm sink years before in a magazine, fell in love with the look and wanted to incorporate both it and the faucets into the design.
A flat glass cook top is sleek and easier to clean than the coil top. New stainless double ovens finish off the work side. Our wall of cabinets, where the old buffet stood, gives ample pantry storage. The serving area with lighted china style top cabinet display accessories or glassware. The beige tile floor was replaced with larger terra cotta tiles.
